Greg Ruvolo, L. Ac.
Greg Ruvolo founded the center Sound Body & Soul in 1996. Greg is a New York State licensed acupuncturist, nationally board certified in acupuncture, Chinese herbology and Asian bodywork. He has served as a faculty member at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine and the School of Acupuncture and Oriental Studies at the Swedish Institute. Greg has been a practitioner in the holistic health movement since 1982.
Greg’s passion for Traditional Chinese Medicine began when he battled cancer over 30 years ago and began a journey exploring nontraditional methods of healing. His exploration included formal instruction in the disciplines of Yoga, Tai Chi Chuan, Qi Gong, Tuina Therapy, Tae Kwon Do, Wing Chun, Qi Gong and Meditation. His interest in nutrition also led to studies at the Natural Gourmet Cookery School, with Annemarie Colbin and the Hippocrates Institute, under Ann Wigmore.
His holistic philosophy requires that individuals take responsibility for the improvement and maintenance of their own good health.
“At Sound Body & Soul, we teach our patients to take control of their own health by providing therapeutic solutions to their problems and educating them to further help themselves.”
These solutions are based upon the theories of Chinese medicine, a system utilizing special methods of diagnosis and treatment. These methods may include acupuncture, herbs, (used both internally and externally), diet therapy, acupressure, heat, special exercises and meditation. These elements are based upon balance – the interdependent relationship between yin and yang. Through this balance, health is achieved and maintained.
Chinese medicine enhances the body’s natural ability to heal and maintain health.
